This is a service I can offer to people who are experiencing a challenge in their lives, for whom life is going 'pear-shaped', and who are ready to consider a spiritual angle to addressing their current issues or problems.
Just what is Spiritual Counselling? This is quite difficult to define in a nutshell, so initially, let's
establish what it isn't. OK - so what IS it, then? Here is a brief definition by my fellow Interfaith Minister, Rev. Kathryn Wallace: "The aim of spiritual counselling is to help you to connect with your own inner strength, wisdom and spirituality, whatever your beliefs. In a safe space of complete acceptance, an Interfaith Minister will assist you in gaining clarity and peace, and in gathering the inner resources you may need to make the next step forward in your life." And yet another - this time in the words of Rev. Miranda Holden, Director of the Interfaith Seminary, London: "....... an approach to counselling based on awakening with an overt but non-denominational, non-dogmatic spiritual orientation." Spiritual counselling may (or may not) incorporate meditation, prayer, silence, music, sounds of nature - anything which assists the individual to be in a place of relaxation. The counsellor does not start out with an agenda, but allows the 'voice' of the Divine to direct operations (usually through intuition), and thus cannot do any preparatory work except to centre him/herself, and ask to be guided throughout the process. |

| A spiritual counselling
consultation will usually (though not necessarily) consist of three
sessions of up to one hour each, normally a week to ten days
apart. This is flexible, of course, depending upon the needs of
the client. Each session of up to one hour costs 35 Euros, and
will take place with complete confidentiality, in a relaxed and safe
environment.
IMPORTANT : Please note that spiritual counselling is a formal arrangement by prior appointment. It should not be confused with my duties as a minister to be freely available to individuals who are suffering from a major life trauma or crisis, such as bereavement or terminal illness, marriage break-up, domestic violence, etc. My personal vow, taken in the presence of witnesses, is "to serve whenever, wherever, and whoever I can". |

"Whether you believe in God or not is not important.
Belief can be an obstacle to experience.
The main thing is to keep an open mind,
and be willing to start the conversation."
